Mole Mapping

Moles are small, coloured spots on the skin. Most people have them and they are usually nothing to worry about unless they change size, shape and colour.

Have your moles examined under any of the following circumstances:

  • They get bigger

  • They change shape – particularly if they get an irregular edge

  • They change colour – getting darker, patchy, or multi-shaded

  • Loss of symmetry – when two halves of a mole do not look the same

  • They itch or are painful

  • They bleed or become crusty

  • They look inflamed

  • You have a family history of melanoma

Single Mole Checks

If you are concerned about a  single mole, we will carry out an examination and the mole in question will be

scanned with a dermascope.

If you have multiple moles you are concerned about, we highly recommend a full mole mapping of the body.
